Manthan Yuva Sansthan (MYS) was founded by passionate individuals with a common goal: to unleash the endless creative potential of people towards improving the lives of marginalized communities in Jharkhand & Bihar. The main goal of MYS is to make life better for marginalized communities. We believe that everyone should be treated fairly and with respect.

The focal point of MYS revolves around advocating for equity, particularly by promoting electoral literacy among the most vulnerable populations in rural areas. Recognizing that electoral literacy and education serve as the foundational pillars for the empowerment of disempowered communities, our group has been actively engaged in campaigns for these causes.

MYS centers its efforts on innovation, enterprise, and community development. The organization has earned trust and respect within the communities it serves, specifically among the most underprivileged and marginalized groups in society.

MYS is dedicated to fulfilling its long-term commitments to empower the most vulnerable groups through strategically implementing well-designed programs. Our initiatives focus on Capacity Building & Skill Development, Environment & Livelihood, Development Communication, Strengthening Local Self-Governance Institutions, and Research & Advocacy.

Through collaboration with village volunteers and Panchayati Raj Institution representatives, Manthan Yuva Sansthan ensures the lasting success and sustainability of its projects. Together, we work towards creating positive, lasting change and contribute to the holistic development of marginalized communities.

MYS’s Impactful Initiative at Aadi Mahotsav, Jamshedpur

Manthan Yuva Sansthan (MYS) made a remarkable impact at the Aadi Mahotsav, Jamshedpur, showcasing their commitment to empowering marginalized communities, especially tribal artisans. With a dedicated stall, MYS highlighted the skill and craftsmanship of trained women, featuring innovative bamboo handicrafts and high-quality products like Swarnarekha Mustard Oil and unique-flavored honey.The event attracted immense interest, selling out the exceptional Swarnarekha Honey and gaining attention for empanelled bamboo products. MYS facilitated market linkages, expanding horizons for these artisans and creating additional employment opportunities. This successful participation not only boosted artisans' morale but also significantly contributed to economic empowerment and the preservation of India's rich heritage. The event stands as a testament to MYS's impactful initiatives, uplifting tribal artisans and marking a milestone in their journey towards empowerment and recognition.

Our Artisans Shine at TRIFED Empowerment Fair!

Manthan Yuva Sansthan proudly participated in the TRIFED Artisans Empowerment Fair at Gumla District Town Hall, showcasing the exquisite handcrafted bamboo items from the talented artisans of Koccha Lohardaga. The event, inaugurated by DC of Gumla district, was a testament to the rich heritage of handcrafted products & the importance of preserving traditional craftsmanship. With a stall showcasing bamboo creations by Koccha Lohardaga's artisans, our team aimed to promote and empower local women artisans. TRIFED recognized and empanelled our bamboo tray and mobile stand, validating the quality of our products and providing opportunities for collaboration and sales. The fair provided exposure to wider markets, inspiring our artisans and raising awareness about the significance of handmade crafts. This recognition has not only motivated our artisans but also secured sustainable livelihoods for the Turi community, ensuring economic empowerment.

MYS’s initiative at the Bangla Sanskritik Fair

MYS’s initiative at the Bangla Sanskritik Fair in Ranchi has been a resounding success, spotlighting the incredible talents of Turi artisans. The project aimed to empower these artisans, particularly women, by imparting advanced training in bamboo craftsmanship. The three-day fair showcased handcrafted bamboo products, including bamboo bottles, mobile stands, tea trays, and more.Notably, the bamboo bottle gained significant attention due to its eco-friendly qualities. This successful marketing initiative not only supports Turi artisans in earning a livelihood but also highlights the latest bamboo product manufacturing techniques.The project promotes self-sufficiency and entrepreneurial spirit among artisans while increasing awareness and appreciation for their hard work. With the rising demand for eco-friendly, durable products, the future looks promising for Turi's bamboo handcrafted items.

Successful Visit of Government Official to Boost Bamboo Handicraft Industry

On July 7th, 2023, Mr. Kamal Kishor Soan, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India, visited our Bamboo Handicraft Industry in Koccha village of Lohardaga district. The purpose was to evaluate the impact of the Bamboo Handicraft Center, established under the SCA scheme.During the visit, Mr. Kamal Kishor Soan, along with the officials and representatives, was given a grand welcome at Center. He interacted with the women of the self-help cooperative society and examined the various bamboo products they had crafted. It was evident that the project had already made a positive impact on the livelihoods of the artisans. Discussions included details of artisan training programs, the introduction of modern techniques, and support in accessing materials. This visit marks a positive milestone in our commitment to empowering local communities through sustainable initiatives.

Sudhir Kumar Pal is a development professional from Ranchi, Jharkhand. He has nearly 27 years of experience in working with diverse tribal communities across India. Being an ace journalist and a vibrant communicator, he has felt the state of Jharkhand through his nerves. And his feelings are well narrated through his understandings and grip in Panchayati Raj Institution, Forest Rights Act and several other similar domains. He has authored the noted four volumed Jharkhand Encyclopedia, Hasiya se Hukumat Tak, Gram Sabha and many more books.
